Here is volume 9 of the fantastic Love, Peace and Poetry series. This album features an excellent selection of artists from Turkey. Click here to listen.
Here is another great compilation featuring beat, psych and garage from Turkey. This comp makes me wish I could travel back to the 1960's, go to Turkey and be able watch some of these bands perform live or at least buy the vinyl. Click here to listen.
I've got a bunch of great compilations featuring psychedelia from all over the world so I'll start sharing some of those. It's amazing how many great obscure psychedelic bands existed all over the world in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Click here to listen.
Year: 1969
I have been a big fan of Dan Deacon's music since first listening to his latest album Spiderman of the Rings. His music could probably be classified easiest as experimental but I have read some articles where his music is called future shock. I recently attended one of his live shows and I have to say it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. He interacts with the audience and gets everybody dancing. Pretty much any dance goes. Below I have posted by album direct links from Dan Deacon's website for nearly all of his earlier works. I highly recommend purchasing his latest album Spiderman of the Rings as well as his DVD Ultimate Reality which actually has a warning on the case that the content may cause seizures. If you are not familiar with Hasil Adkins you should click here to read some good biographical information. Besides that I have posted 4 great albums of music that I would recommend checking out. If you listened to the Rockabilly Psychosis & the Garage Disease album I posted previously then you heard his song She Said. That song alone made me want to hear more of his music.
Here is an interesting album of some cool instrumental psychedelia by an unknown artist. Found this one online awhile back & never did find out who made this album. It sounds like it could be 1960's & it is a good listen similar to albums posted here previously. If anyone knows anything about this album please don't hesitate to post a comment. In recent years there has been a sort of Monks revival as more people discover the gems they left behind. This various artists compilation is testament to that fact & features modern artists performing Monks covers. Has some cool moments but not as good as Black Monk Time. Click CD1 & CD2 to listen.
